I have adored France my entire life. From studying the French language in school to obsessing over the French Impressionists in college, my love for the City of Light has been my muse as an artist for decades. After a birthday trip to Paris with my mom a few years ago, I fell in love with the gardens of France - Jardin des Tuileries, Monet’s gardens in Giverny and Chateau de Versailles as well as the art and architecture. From the marble sculptures at the Louvre to the tiny shops filled with French ephemera and antiquities, I was smitten. I brought back French postcards, handwritten letters, music scores, Limoges tea sets and French country enamel ware. French stripes and tiny polka dots on linens, tatted doilies, fleur de lis wax seals and floral sheets filled my suitcase. I sighed over gilded mirrors and hand carved candlesticks, upholstered French furniture and chandeliers. I have become a Francophile romantic forever, longing for the beauty and grace of 1910 Paris in every way. I am calling this collection Lettres d'amour de Paris. The romance of writing and sending handwritten letters is back, and in this collection I share vintage Paris with you in every sigh, romantic nod and whim.
